Gertrude Sherwood
Gertrude Sherwood emerged from the Ivy Baxter Studio, Little Theatre Movement pantomimes and the University of the West Indies Jamaica summer school. She had a natural gift as a dancer and a powerful stage projection. She was studying the cello at the time of the Company’s formation and brought musicality, self-discipline, and the kind of enthusiasm that stimulated her to further study abroad, with Eileen Crofton in London and Eleo Pomare in New York.
